GUEST ARTIST: CHRIS KEENAN

25 April - 2 June

PRIVATE VIEW
Thursday 25 April
5pm - 8pm

It is with great pleasure and excitement that we announce Chris Keenan as the gallery’s next Guest Artist.

Working with Limoges porcelain Chris creates exquisitely thrown vessels from beakers and mugs to teapots, bowls and lidded vessels. These forms are glazed in tenmoku or celadon or a combination of the two, and gas fired to create incredible lustrous surfaces. The precision, grace and radiance imbued in his work give the vessels a jewel-like quality which are both a joy to use and to behold.

Originally trained as an actor, Chris came to ceramics in his mid-thirties apprenticing to Edmund de Waal for two years. Since then Chris has continued making from his studio in Camberwell, south London creating works that are for both functional and decorative use. His work is held in several public collections including the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford and the Mashiko Museum of Ceramic Art in Japan.

Please do join us for the Private View of Chris’ work in the gallery on Thursday 25 April.
